Hello, my name is Adam Valenta. I am a Software Engineer at H2o.ai.
Recently, I have obtained a master's degree in Data Science from the Czech Technical University. I have started to cooperate with H2O.ai in my last year at university to create my master theses aimed at Anomaly detection using Extended Isolation Forest under the supervision of Veronika Maurerová from H2O.ai. Our successful cooperation leads me to the company. I also have a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, and I would love to connect those two fields at the H2O by creating brilliant software for data scientists.
Before H2O.ai, besides my studies, I worked as a half-time Java Developer for a mid-size company where we supplied IT services for various European businesses.
In my spare time, I like to do something complementary to working at the office. I am always up for all kinds of sports. Currently, it is jogging. I want to attend Army Run in the Czech Republic next year.
I am also interested in cooking, homebrewing, motorbikes, traveling, and taking care of our summer house with my family. Finally, if I am too lazy, I am a big fan of good movies, TV shows, or computer games.
Ana is a Data Science Evangelists for H2O.ai. Before H2O.ai, she worked as an Evangelist for Hortonworks(Cloudera). She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master in Statistics with a concentration in Machine Learning at San Jose State University.
When not at H2O.ai or school, she can be found in Fresno working with farmers to identify ML solutions for their agricultural challenges.
Anmol has a operations and build/test background. In the past he has worked with small digital agency and a global marketing and advertising company.
Anmol likes being the in-between person with operations, QA and engineers. He loves learning new things and always tries to expand his knowledge of everything.

Arno Candel is the Chief Technology Officer at H2O.ai, where he has been the main committer of the industry-leading machine learning and data science platforms H2O-3 and H2O Driverless AI since joining the company in 2014. Previously, he spent a decade in supercomputing at ETH and Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and collaborated with CERN on next-generation particle accelerators.
Arno holds a PhD and Masters summa cum laude in Physics from ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Arno was named "2014 Big Data All-Star" by Fortune Magazine and featured in ETH GLOBE in 2015 and WIRED in 2017. Connect with him on Twitter @ArnoCandel.
Asghar Ghorbani is a lead solutions engineer for the DACH region who is based in Germany. Previously, Asghar held a position of "customer-facing data scientist" DataRobot. During his time there, he delivered data science solutions to customers across a variety of industries to add value to their organizations. Prior to that Asghar was a data scientist at Volkswagen Data:Lab where he was responsible for the industrializing of AI solutions in manufacturing. Previously, Asghar held research and scientist roles at the National Metrology Institute of Germany and the Technical University in Munich
Ashrith is the security scientist designing anomalous detection algorithms at H2O. He recently graduated from the Center of Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) at Purdue University with a PhD in Information security. He is specialized in anomaly detection on networks under the guidance of Dr. William S. Cleveland.
He tries to break into anything that has an operating system, sometimes into things that don’t. He has been christened as “The Only Human Network Packet Sniffer” by his advisors.
When he is not working he swims and bikes long distances.
Ben is a Senior Software Engineer based in Portland, Oregon. He has extensive experience developing web apps at scale, creating interactive dashboards, and building human-robot interfaces.
Ben is passionate about open source software and user-driven design. His hobbies include Ultimate Frisbee, improv, and adventures in the Pacific Northwest.
Bruna is a Field Marketing Manager for Latin America at H2O.ai. She is a passionate professional with 10 years of experience, ranging from Internal/Corporate Communication to Marketing and Social Media. Prior to joining H2O.ai, Bruna worked as a Senior Communication Analyst for several years at the largest telco in Brazil and one of the top 3 in Latin America.
Bruna holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication at the University of San Francisco (USF) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication at PUC-Rio.
Daniela is an illustrator and visual designer with experience in Branding, Product Packaging Design, Illustration, Print Collateral, Motion Graphics, and more. She has previously worked for Costa Rican companies such as Britt (a leading worldwide coffee house and retail store) where she gained extensive experience in product packaging design.
From beautiful Costa Rica, Pura Vida, Daniela earned her B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design at the Universidad de Costa Rica. When she is not drawing or designing, Daniela enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
I am a Senior Data Scientist at H2O.ai and a Kaggle Competitions Grandmaster (https://www.kaggle.com/dott1718) with a record of winning multiple competitions and reaching top 5 overall ranking. I graduated with honours from the the Moscow State University with a degree in Data Mining and have more than 10 years of experience of machine learning applications in banking risk management and insurance. On Kaggle I am focusing on wide range of topics and problems, holding gold medals in classic machine learning, as well as natural language processing, deep learning and time series competitions.

A Software Engineer, Edgar studied Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Before H2O, Edgar was a Lead Software Engineer building high-performance microservices in Scala. He engineered data pipelines at Hortonworks and was the architect of the company's new generation of data platform environments for the desktop.
When not glued to one of his machines, he can be found volunteering, playing board games or D&D, or on a mission to find the best nachos in town.
atih graduated from Boğaziçi University, Turkey in 2017 and obtained his BSc degree studying Industrial Engineering.
Prior to H2O, he worked in a startup and leveraged machine learning algorithms mostly for insurance related projects. He joined his first Kaggle competition on Sep,2017 and while improving his Data Science skills he also reached Competition Grand Master title on Oct,2019.
Besides Data Science and Kaggling, he loves traveling, shooting photos and videos, and also editing them.
Greg is a data scientist with work experience that spans more than 20 projects, 15 brands, 5 industries and 5 countries and still counting! You could call him “the multi-tool” and please do, as he’s desperate for this nickname to catch on.
He studied Production Engineering and Management, he has a MSc in Operational Research from the University of Edinburgh and studied a bit of Cognitive Science. Recently he completed a self driving car nanodegree.
Greg also runs an amateur online Python course entitled “your 10 minutes of Python per day” and is happy to be able to call Scotland home. Due to an injury, this is the first time -since his toddler years- that Greg is not playing basketball. He’s channeling all this extra energy into his work projects. So beware!
Guanshuo Xu is now a Data Scientist at H2O.ai. He is a Kaggle Competitions Grandmaster. In his Kaggle profile (https://www.kaggle.com/wowfattie), you can find more information about his current and past Kaggle competition achievements. Guanshuo also holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering focused on machine learning based image forensics and steganalysis. His methods for real-world image tampering detection and localization won the second place in the First IEEE Image Forensics Challenge. And his architectural design of deep neural networks outperformed traditional feature-based methods for the first time in image steganalysis.
Hemen is a senior solution architect in the customer success team. He focuses on providing technical solutions for customer’s problems using H2O.ai’s products. Additionally, he also works on adding customer requested features to the Driverless AI product. Before joining H2O, Hemen was working for customers like Adobe and HP in various software development and solution/project delivery positions. Hemen completed his Bachelors in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai.
Hemen has a passion for creating tools and believes in sharing them with larger community, Getbhavcopy (www.getbhavcopy.com) is one of the tools widely adopted in India for downloading daily data from Indian stock exchanges for technical analysis.
During his free time Hemen enjoys spending time with his family, mostly cooking something special on weekends and spending time reviewing his daughter’s school homework while keeping himself informed of the latest in the field of technology.
I’m a Senior DevOps Engineer from Sri Lanka. Prior to joining H2O.ai, I have worked in Sysco Labs which is the technology arm of a global food service company called Sysco based in the USA. I earned my B.Sc. Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. I’m interested in Cloud technologies & Process automation stuff while learning new things. I love to spend my leisure time with family members and friends, Go on trips with them and also I like to enjoy watching cricket matches and music.
Jakub (or “Kuba” as we call him) completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Master’s Degree in Software Systems at Charles University in Prague. As a bachelor’s thesis, Kuba wrote a small platform for distributed computing of any types of tasks. During his master’s degree studies, he developed a cluster monitoring tool for JVM based languages which makes debugging and reasoning the performance of distributed systems easier using a concept called distributed stack traces. Kuba enjoys dealing with problems and learning new programming languages. At H2O.ai, Kuba works on Sparkling Water.
Aside from programming, Kuba enjoys exploring new cultures and bouldering. He’s also a big fan of tea preparation and the associated ceremony.
Jan is a Software Engineer at H2O.ai. His main focus is on back-end development. He has experience with graph database development, big data processing and web application development in multiple domains such as banking, healthcare or pharmacy.
Jan has studied informatics at Czech Technical University in Prague where he graduated from Web and Software Engineering with Master's degree. Jan has also spent one year abroad in the US where he worked and studied.
In his spare time Jan likes to do sports, traveling and explaining to non-Czech speaking people why "Jan" and "Honza" are the same names but different at the same time.
Jorge Luis Hernandez Villapol, is a Software Engineer and Data Scientist at H2O. He comes from an Electronics Engineering background where the passion and excitement from the Mechatronics and Robotics field led him to AI and Intelligent Systems.
He has a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UNT and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Simon Bolivar University (USB) in Caracas, Venezuela.
Like many engineers, Jorge loves challenges and groundbreaking problems to solve. He also enjoys watching and traveling to sports events (F1, Soccer, Tennis) and the casual gaming sessions.
Josephine Wang is the Head of Customer Experience at H2O, makers of H2O, the open source math and machine learning engine for big data. Josephine has 20 plus years experience and success in sales and customer relationship building. She is responsible for all new business development and management of client services for H2O. Prior to H2O, Josephine held key roles at Teradata and SAS where she acquired her passion for analytics and big data.
Previously, Josephine specialized in corporate governance and risk management at ISS and SunGard. She began her career in private client services at Bear Stearns and Co. in New York and holds a BS in Finance from the University of Delaware.
Justin will be assisting in leading the migration of our marketing website (H2O.ai) onto a newer web platform called Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). He is joining us from Digital On Six, a digital agency and Adobe Implementation Partner specializing in enterprise web development.
Justin has always lived in the Niagara Falls and Toronto area, as well as earning his HBSc in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Toronto. As passionate as he is about all things Toronto, including the sports teams, he has not forgotten his roots and will always identify as the “small town boy, living in the big city”. Whenever any free time, it’s usually spent exploring new areas of the city, travelling, concerts & live music, or sharpening his Mario Kart skills with friends.
Kalhara is Licensing fulfilment and Sri Lanka Operations Manager at H2o.ai.His aim is to create a best-in-class Licensing function which is future-ready, embracing a new operating framework for license fulfilment and deploying licensing related processes. He will drive operational execution towards achieving these targets and strengthen Licensing fulfilment position as the go-to Licensing partner for all customers across the globe. Luiz is a Solutions Engineer & Data Scientist for H2O.ai. He comes from a career in finance, where he worked at a leading financial data provider and some of the largest banks in Brazil, leading analytics projects tasked to help with data quality issues, fraud detection, churn prediction, customer segmentation and a wide range of cross-sectional problems inside these companies.

Marios Michailidis is a competitive data scientist at H2O.ai and a Kaggle Grandmaster (ex World #1 out of 500,000 members) . He holds a Bsc in accounting Finance from the University of Macedonia in Greece and an Msc in Risk Management from the University of Southampton. He has obtained his PhD in machine learning at University College London (UCL) with a focus on ensemble modelling. He has worked in both marketing and credit sectors in the UK Market and has led many analytics’ projects with various themes including: Acquisition, Retention, Recommenders, Uplift, fraud detection, portfolio optimisation and more. He is the creator of KazAnova, a project made in Java for quick credit scoring as well as is the creator of StackNet Meta-Modelling Framework. Michal is a geek, developer, Java, Linux, programming languages enthusiast developing software for over 10 years.
He obtained PhD from the Charles University in Prague in 2012 and post-doc at Purdue University.
During his studies he was interested in construction of not only distributed but also embedded and real-time component-based systems using model-driven methods and domain-specific languages. He participated in design and development of various systems including SOFA and Fractal component systems or jPapabench control system.
Michelle is Head of Product at H2O.ai. As the Head of Product at H2O.ai, Michelle Tanco’s primary focus lies in delivering a seamless user experience across machine learning applications. With a strong dedication to math and computer science, she is enthusiastic about leveraging these disciplines to address real-world challenges. Before joining H2O, she served as a Senior Data Science Consultant at Teradata, working on high-impact analytics projects to tackle business issues across various industries.

Olivier Grellier is Vice President of Data Science at H2O.ai and is a double Kaggle Grandmaster.

Ondrej studied Computer Science at Czech Technical University in Prague and is currently finishing his Master's in System Programming. For his thesis, he worked on processing and visualizing space radiation data from ESA's satellite in Low Earth Orbit. Ondrej's number one tool is Go, but he enjoys working with other compiled languages as well. At H2O.ai, Ondrej works on Enterprise Steam and other projects.
In his spare time, Ondrej likes traveling, videography and sports like cycling, skiing or running.
Ophir worked at Bank Leumi, the biggest bank in Israel, for ten years. In Bank Leumi, he led the AWS public cloud team and the K8s infrastructure.
In his free time, he likes to take trips with his wife and daughter across the country. He also likes to travel to new countries and explore new places (before covid-19).
Philip has over 8 years of experience in financial services having worked in various Lead Data Science and Quant roles across Macquarie Bank in Australia. Most recently leading the deployment of advanced ML focusing on unstructured data and Natural language processing across the retail bank.
Philip is based in the eastern beaches of Sydney and holds a Masters of Data Science and a bachelor of Science (Mathematics) both from Sydney University. When not hard at work he enjoys going surfing, fishing or swimming.
Philipp has won several Kaggle competitions and is as of this writing ranked 4th on the global competition leaderboard. Philipp obtained a Ph.D. in computer science with honors at the Technical University of Graz where he also finished his Master's studies in Software Development and Business Management. During his Ph.D. and following post-doc, he has published papers in seminal data science conferences and journals including the best paper award at The Web Conference.
Philipp loves utilizing his passion and skills in machine learning, statistics, and data science in order to enable data-driven decision making and he is always eager to delve into new bleeding-edge fields and technologies. Prithvi is Chief of Technology, Applications at H2O.ai. Prithvi leads the design and development of "Q", H2O.ai's high scale exploratory data analysis and analytical application development platform.
Prithvi has been with H2O.ai since its early days and has been responsible for several products including Driverless AI (our flagship automatic machine learning platform), Steam (distributed cluster management, model management and deployment for H2O), H2O.js (Javascript transpiler for H2O's distributed runtime), Play (on-demand cloud provisioning system for H2O), Flow (a hybrid GUI/REPL/Notebook for H2O) and Lightning (statistical graphics for H2O).
In the past, Prithvi was an early engineer at Platfora, where he was responsible for the high performance interactive data visualization engine. Before that, he founded Plot.io, a browser-based visual analytics environment (acquired by Platfora).
Rafael Coss is a Community and Partner Maker at H2O.ai. Prior to joining H2O.ai, he was technical marketing and community Director and a developer advocate at Hortonworks. He was also the DataWorks Summit Program Co-Chair for the past 3 years. Prior to Hortonworks he was a Senior Solution Architect and Manager of IBM’s WW Big Data Enablement team. At IBM he was responsible for the technical product enablement for BigInsights and Streams. Previously, he held several other positions in IBM, where he worked on tools, XML db, federated db and Object-Relational db.
Rasika is a Software Engineer at H2O.ai. He is currently working on our AutoDoc and Driverless AI. He graduated from University of Colombo, School of Computing(UCSC) in Sri Lanka and holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka.
Previously, Rasika worked in WSO2 Inc. specialized in middleware application development mastering the areas of SOA, Microservices, Cloud-Native, object-oriented & test-driven development.

I'm a Machine Learning Engineer and Kaggle Quadruple Grandmaster with over 7 years of experience building data science products in various industries and projects like digital payments, e-commerce retail, credit risk, fraud prevention, growth, logistics, and more. I enjoy working on competitions, hackathons and collaborating with folks around the globe on building solutions.
I completed my post-graduation in Applied Statistics from IIT-Bombay in 2013.
Solving sudokus and puzzles have been my big hobby for over a decade. Having won the national championship multiple times, I've represented India and been in the top-10 in the World, as well as have won a silver medal at the Asian Championships.

Sajith Ariyarathna is a Lead Software Engineer at H2O.ai. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from the University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka. Sarah is responsible for our people engagement strategies and communication as we continue to grow globally. She is joining H2O.ai from MATRIXX Software where she was involved in company engagement initiatives, communications, operations, and the culture committee.
She is local to San Jose, CA and earned her B.S. in Business Management from San Jose State University (Go Spartans!). In her down time, Sarah enjoys being active doing yoga, calisthenics, golf, and tennis. During quarantine, she has picked up epoxy resin art to explore her artistic side.
Shivam is a Data Scientist at H2O.ai and Kaggle Grandmaster in Kernels Section. He is the three times winner of Kaggle's Data Science for Good Competition and winner of multiple other offline AI and Data Science competitions.
Shivam has extensive cross-industry and hands-on experience in building data science products. He has helped clients in the Insurance, Healthcare, Banking, and Retail domains to solve unstructured data science problems by building end to end pipelines and solutions. Shivam really likes to work on all aspects of a data science project which includes both technical aspects as well as business aspects.

Snigdha joined H20.ai on 28th June, and prior to her joining she led Cognizant’s AI & Analytics Life Sciences business development team across North America, Europe & APAC. She has driven multi-million transformational digital deals for Cognizant while simultaneously authoring and program managing POV’s, Thought Leadership, Industry Primers, Dossiers, Playbooks and Marketing Collaterals.
She is based out of Bangalore, India, and has earned her Masters in Pharmaceutical Marketing Management. At H20.ai. she would be responsible for driving and supporting business growth strategies across geographies for the Healthcare business while supporting India sales as well. Snigdha enjoys listening to music, gardening, watching documentaries and cooking.

Tom is VP of Customer and Pre-Sales Engineering at H2O & key to the magic of engineering & customer happiness.
A quintessential team member – Tom is an extraordinary blend of technical genius, customer focus and management by example.
Before joining H2O, Tom was Co-founder & CTO at Luminix, where he and the team developed a cutting-edge offline mobile application for Salesforce users. This involved a healthy blend of focusing on the user-experience along with a deep-dive in various technologies.
Prior to Luminix, Tom was a Principal Engineer at Azul Systems, where he worked in both the JVM and System Software teams. Tom served as the technical leader for the distributed management application team, appliance security and tools for distributed debugging.
Tom’s experience at systems and chip startup companies involved straddling the hardware-software boundary.
Tom led pre-silicon verification infrastructure development for a terabit networking switch fabric chipset at Abrizio (acquired by PMC-Sierra). He also developed architectural CPU simulators, debuggers and toolchains at Chromatic Research (acquired by ATI). Tom got his start in technology at Intel, spending internships and co-ops in both the Portland (MD6) and Santa Clara (MD7) microprocessor design groups.
A lesser-known fact about Tom: Finding the now-famous Pentium floating-point divide (FDIV) bug while at Intel using the testing harness and methodology he developed (several months before it was independently discovered outside Intel, and subsequently gained worldwide attention).
Tom has an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois (at Urbana-Champaign), and a BSE degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan (at Ann Arbor).
Tomáš is a curious software engineer with strong background in machine learning and data science.
For his bachelor’s he studied computer science at Czech
Technical University. His bachelor’s thesis was about neuro-evolution algorithms, which convinced him to specialise in knowledge engineering for his master’s degree. The topic of his master’s thesis dealt with scalability of ensemble models and their anytime performance.
After graduation he worked as a data scientist in B2B pricing company and as a data scientist, ML engineer and team leader in an industrial AI startup.
He likes to spend his free time with his family and his Aussie shepherd Pixel. When he is not reading ML related papers, he is probably reading about abstract algebra, category theory, functional programming, and cooking.
Tomas holds a master degree in software engineering.
During his studies, he spent four years creating software which helps in leukemia research. After graduation, before joining H2O, he worked for a year and a half as a backend engineer on a cloud-based architecture CRM project for the German clients. Outside work his biggest passion is skiing, racquet sports, and strategy games.

Venkatesh serves H2O as VP of Engineering. He joined the company from Adobe Systems, where he held a number of positions in the Software Engineering and Leadership space including his latest role as Sr. Manager, Software Engineering and Product Management with primary focus on Master Data Management and Data Science. Venkatesh played an instrumental Engineering and Product Management leadership role as an “Entrepreneur in Residence” in the various key strategic programs and initiatives like Adobe@Adobe, Adobe.io and Adobe.Data.
Experience of managing and working with teams across the globe in US, Canada, Switzerland, Romania, India with a focus on value creation. Prior to Adobe Systems Venkatesh has served technology companies in various engineering roles in companies like Philips, HP and IBM.

Veronika is Software Engineer. She likes everything about Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
She finished master studies at Czech Technical University in Prague in 2017. Within master thesis, she cooperated with the Police of the Czech Republic. The goal was to prepare and analyze Czech crime data and build a predictive model. During studies at CTU, she had a part-time job in Ataccama software company as a Java Software Engineer. After she finished her studies, she had worked as a Machine Learning Engineer in Czech startup SEQENGI for nearly a year.
In her spare time, she plays frisbee, travels, hikes, plays the ukulele, learns how to cook or bake something new, enjoys gardening and a much more.'
Vijitha is a Senior Engineer at H2O.ai who possess excellent skills in various areas starting from programming, troubleshooting, customer handling to team management. In the past he worked Ballerina team at WSO2, which is responsible in developing the Ballerina Language; A programming language specifically designed and developed for network and cloud operations.
He enjoys playing hockey, traveling with family and friends and watching movies in his spare time.
Vishal Sharma is a senior data scientist at H2O.ai.
Prior to H2O.ai, Vishal worked in different domains such as finance, smart city and patent analytics. He has lead teams of data scientists and machine learning researchers delivering end-end solutions for lead generation, analytics based corporate lending, machine translation, weather forecasting, regime detection for trading etc.
Vishal has a PhD from National University of Singapore in neural networks and time series. His areas of interest include time series and nlp.
Data Scientist having more than 10 years practical experiences.
Prior to joining H2O.ai, as a Data Scientist, Yuki was responsible for consulting, project management, and leadership roles in SAS Institute.
Working in various positions and companies, including software, consulting and financial industries, he has experienced various challenging projects in which both technical and business skills are required.
Yuki obtained his masters degree in Statistics from Georgia Institute of Technology and bachelors in Mathematics from University of California, Los Angeles.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Applied Data Analysis and has over 4 years of working experience in Data Science. I worked in Banking, Gaming and eCommerce domains. I’m also the first Kaggle competitions Grandmaster in Belarus having gold medals in both classic Machine Learning and Deep Learning competitions.
