While giving a talk at the Meetup at Elance Thursday night Chris Pouliot  (Netflix’ lead analyst) commented that good analysis happens not when you have an army of clones, but when you have a diverse set of bright, engaged minds all willing to tackle a problem.  No more than an hour later, Sri was reminding us that good solutions and great insights come with an  inherent love of adventure, which is needed to bravely move off the beaten (intellectual) path and look for new solutions and  new questions.
Bookended by these well matched observations 0x’s Cliff Click and Tomas Nykodym talked about the technical details of H2O and Generalized Linear Modeling. They covered the tool’s capabilities, and where our work is currently taking us – particularly within the GLM function of the project.  The technical details are very cool, but the cooler take away here were our experts repeated, excited commands to the community at hand to go look it up, go to Github, go to the tool online and play with it. Take it out, try to break it, look at the code, understand it through your own lens. Use it to solve cool problems.  
We are definitely looking forward to the next gathering of bright, engaged minds. As for last night’s Meetup, Chris , Elance and the attending community deserve a huge thank you, both for their generosity, and for a job very well done.
