Today, The Forrester New Wave™ : Automation-Focused Machine Learning Solutions, Q2 2019 was published by Forrester Research. We are thrilled that this leading analyst firm recognized us as a clear leader in their Automatic Machine Learning evaluation. We could not be prouder of our unwavering strategy and hard work that we believe is propelling us to the forefront of this burgeoning AI and Machine Learning market.

Download and review the report here.

Forrester evaluated nine vendors across a range of ten criteria from vision to product functionality and market approach. scored as differentiated in eight categories and we are positioned in the leaders category.

Forrester states that “Customer references praised’s feature engineering, model explainability, and implementation support“. And that “Enterprises struggle to expand data science teams because data scientists are hard to hire.”  The solution: “Make existing teams more productive with’s AutoML solution.” The evaluation also found the following:

  • Vision and Roadmap for Automatic Machine Learning. was rated as differentiated in the vision and roadmap criteria; you can see what makes H2O Driverless AI stand out in the marketplace.
  • Machine Learning and Explainability.
We are particularly honored by receiving a differentiated rating in what we consider to be the core machine learning criteria of User Experience, Data, Feature Engineering, Methods, Training, and Evaluation.
  • Creating Machine Learning tools for Data Scientists
Forrester states that H2O “Is best for companies that want to delight data science teams. Enterprises struggle to expand data science teams because data scientists are hard to hire”.

We continue to innovate with H2O-3, Sparkling Water, H2O AutoML, and Driverless AI in core machine learning, automation, and machine learning interpretability. We are excited about our role in leading within the machine learning community every day. It’s also interesting to note that H2O-3 was named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Notebook-Based Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning Solutions, Q3 2018.

We’d also like to acknowledge and congratulate DataRobot for their position in the Forrester Wave and helping to develop the Automatic Machine Learning market and their head start. We also appreciate and think it is great that they leverage H2O-3 algorithms. They were the first in the Automatic Machine learning market and have been doing it for almost 7 years. The H2O Driverless AI development team has done an amazing job getting H2O Driverless AI to share the top spot in the Wave with DataRobot, and did so in less than 18 months. It will be interesting to see how fast each of our companies can innovate and where we will rank next year. Our Driverless AI team never rests and is boldly innovating in every release.

As Forrester states, “most organizations can benefit from a standalone AutoML solution” and they believe the “market to grow substantially.” H2O Driverless AI pioneered leveraging CPU and GPUs to automate and build machine learning models, improving predictions through Automatic Feature Engineering and providing data scientists an easy way to explain models. We look forward to continuing to drive innovation in core machine learning and streamline the process from model development to deployment.

We appreciate the research and industry perspective from Forrester. And, is committed to democratizing AI, and as part of that mission, we want to make AI easy to get started. You can get started today with the Driverless AI Test Drive . In 10 minutes, you will have a 1 GPU instance provisioned in the cloud at no cost, with data and a tutorial to explain the basics. Be your own judge! Take your next step in AI. Let us know how it goes or if you have questions in the slack channel .
